Smoke signal - Comet

The Comet Floating Orange Smoke Signal is a compact, flat‑top distress device designed for easy and safe handling. It provides clear position marking during daylight rescue operations and can also be used to indicate wind direction. The signal produces dense orange smoke for at least 3 minutes and is safe for use on water contaminated with oil or fuel.

Designed for liferaft storage, it is also suitable for leisure craft. Activation is simple with a pull‑wire ignitor and a built‑in 2‑second safety delay before emission begins.

Storage: Store in a water‑resistant locker at ambient temperature or inside a robust polybottle. Keep accessible for emergency use.

Operation:

1. Remove plastic cap and point away from the body.
2. Pull the ring firmly from the canister, ensuring the hand stays clear of the HOT END.
3. Throw the device overboard. Smoke starts after approximately 2 seconds.
