The Comet Red Parachute Rocket is designed as a reliable long‑distance distress signal for maritime and professional use. When launched, the rocket ascends to approximately 300 metres and deploys a bright red flare with an intensity of 30,000 candela and a burn time of 40 seconds. This ensures excellent visibility at sea, regardless of time of day.
It is approved according to SOLAS 74/88, IMO Resolution 96/98/EC, SBG 425.005 and USCG regulations. The signal is mandatory in ship’s lifeboats and liferafts and also suitable for other commercial or recreational vessels.
Storage: Should ideally be stored in a robust, purpose‑designed polybottle or in a dry, easily accessible place at ambient temperature.
Operation:
- Hold the rocket by the ribbed handle and unscrew the RED bottom cap. Do not point at people or property.
- Hold vertically above the head, facing away from the body.
- Keep hands clear of the top. To fire, pull the red ball sharply downwards.
