This red tungsten electrode is alloyed with 2 % thorium oxide (ThO₂) and is intended for TIG welding using direct current (DC). It provides excellent arc starting characteristics, high current-carrying capacity, and stable arc performance. The electrode also performs well at low amperage when ground to a modified point.
Manufactured from high-quality tungsten powder, the electrode features an extremely high melting point of approximately 4000 °C, ensuring long service life and consistent welding results. It is suitable for welding carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium, and copper.
Important notice:
Red tungsten electrodes contain thorium, which is radioactive. Grinding may release thorium-containing dust into the air. Proper extraction and personal protective equipment are recommended.
