Welding Electrode, Aluminum

Versatile aluminum electrode designed for welding and repairing all types of aluminum, including cast, wrought, and extruded materials.

This aluminum welding electrode is designed for welding all aluminum and aluminum alloys in any position. It can also be used as a torch brazing alloy, making it highly adaptable for repair and maintenance applications.

Suitable for cast, wrought, and extruded aluminum components, it offers stable performance and reliable weld quality.

Technical specifications:

  • Tensile strength: approx. 41 PSI
  • Alloy composition: Aluminum / Silicon (AlSi)
  • Current type: DC constant current, reverse polarity
  • Application: Welding and torch brazing

Recommended amperage:

  • 2.5 mm (3/32"): 50–80 A
  • 3.2 mm (1/8"): 70–120 A
  • 4.0 mm (5/32"): 110–150 A

Welding techniques:

  • Clean thoroughly (remove oil, grease, and oxide)
  • Wire brush and grind the weld area
  • Chamfer edges and open cracks before repair
  • Preheat thicker sections
  • Start with higher amperage and reduce as heat builds
  • Use fast travel speed and steady feed
  • Restart welds by welding into previous crater

Typical applications:

  • Truck beds, bodies, and frames
  • Loading ramps and docks
  • Railings, stairs, and aluminum plates
  • Door and window frames
  • Irrigation piping
  • Transmission housings and gearboxes
  • Engine and motor blocks
  • Machine bases and supports
  • Bus bars and electrical components
