The SO3 wedge socket is an open design made from cast steel with a safety factor of 5 times. Manufactured according to US Federal Spec RR-5-550D, type B, and available in galvanized or painted finish. Polar rated for temperatures from -40 °C to +200 °C.
Applications include lifting, rigging, anchoring, towing, and construction such as bridges and roofs. When properly assembled, wedge sockets can achieve at least the breaking strength of the wire rope.
Standard pins are suitable for temporary use, while safety pins are recommended for permanent installations. Always follow resin manufacturer instructions and ensure wire rope and socket are clean and properly aligned before use.
