The GN SO1 closed socket is manufactured from cast steel and designed for use with wire ropes in lifting, anchoring, towing, and structural applications. It features a safety factor of 5 and complies with US Federal Spec RR-5-550D, type C. Available with painted or galvanized finish and rated for temperatures from -40 °C to +200 °C (Polar Rated).
This socket includes NRS (Non-Rotating System), preventing the rope end from turning or slipping out of the cone, ensuring a strong and reliable connection. A 3.1B material certificate (EN 10204) can be provided upon request.
Typical applications include lifting, anchoring systems, anchor cables for oil platforms, towing cables, and fastening cables in bridges and roof structures. When properly assembled, sockets can achieve at least the breaking strength of the wire rope.
